On Monday, the American website Visual Capitalist, which specializes in analyzing economic data and indicators, revealed its expectations regarding the growth of Iraq’s GDP during 2026, indicating that the expected growth rate will reach 3.6%.

The website stated in a report followed by Shafaq News Agency that the world will witness during 2026 a continuation of the state of disparity in economic growth after years of fluctuations, as a result of the impact of multiple factors, most notably energy production, trade movement, financial conditions, in addition to demographic changes, which makes some economies candidates for achieving rapid growth, while other economies face limited growth rates.

He explained that Iraq’s real GDP is expected to grow by 3.6% in 2026, placing it 75th globally out of 190 countries included in the ranking.

He noted that Guyana tops the list of the fastest-growing countries, with expectations of achieving real GDP growth of 23% during 2026, driven by a major oil boom, followed by South Sudan at 22.4%, then Guinea at 10.5%, and then Sudan at 9.5%.

The report also predicted that Venezuela would rank last in global economic growth, with a decline in GDP of -3%, preceded by Haiti, whose economy is expected to register negative growth of -1.2%.
