Ministry of Planning: Annual inflation declines, and food prices fall.

The Ministry of Planning announced on Saturday that the annual inflation rate decreased by (1.2%) during December 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. It also indicated that the food sector recorded a decrease in prices of (0.7%) during the same month. The ministry’s spokesperson, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, told the official news agency that “the inflation rate during December 2025 remained stable, without recording any increase or decrease, compared to the preceding month of November.”
He added that “the annual inflation rate recorded a decrease of (1.2%) during last December, compared to the same period in 2024, and the food sector also recorded a decrease in its prices by (0.7%) during the same month, in a positive indicator related to basic commodities.”
He also pointed out that “the core inflation rate also decreased by (0.4%) during December,” noting that “seven sections witnessed slight increases in their prices, while three sections recorded a decrease in prices, while two sections maintained the same price levels recorded in November.”
