Hassan Fad’am al-Janabi, a leader in the Hikma Movement, confirmed on Saturday that Fahd al-Jubouri’s tweet criticizing Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, does not reflect the movement’s official position.
Al-Janabi told Al-Maalomah News Agency, “There is a spokesperson for the Hikma Movement and a political office that issues official statements. Sometimes, some spokespeople or members of the movement express their personal opinions, but these do not represent the movement’s official stance.”
He added, “The Hikma Movement has not issued any official statement regarding al-Maliki, and we maintain a good relationship with him. Furthermore, it is part of the movement’s ethics not to attack any of its leaders or the country’s leaders, and the media is not always the right way to express true positions on political objectives.”
It is worth noting that the Iraqi political scene recently witnessed widespread circulation of Fahd al-Jubouri’s tweet criticizing al-Maliki, sparking controversy in the media and on social media regarding the Hikma Movement’s stance on these criticisms.
