The State of Law reveals the reason for the delay in announcing the framework for al-Maliki’s nomination for Prime Minister

Salah Boushi, a member of the State of Law Coalition, explained the reasons for the Coordination Framework’s failure to officially announce Nouri al-Maliki’s nomination for the premiership in the next phase.
Boushi told Al-Maalouma, “The Coordination Framework is working towards producing tangible outcomes after finalizing all the details of the political understandings between the various parties and forces.”
He added, “These political understandings are crucial at the present time to produce outcomes that guarantee the constitutional entitlements of the political forces. The Coordination Framework is responsible for achieving a balance in these entitlements.”
He indicated that “the Coordination Framework has finalized agreements among its constituent forces, and it is hoped that the official announcement of Nouri al-Maliki’s nomination for prime minister will be made soon. The Framework’s decisions are expected, as it is the true face of official statements and pronouncements, in order to move towards a stable government that meets all the entitlements and understandings.”
He pointed out that “the framework has not officially announced al-Maliki’s candidacy for the presidency, as it is waiting for the completion of the presidential election process, after which al-Maliki will be officially designated as head of the executive branch.”
