Member of the Coordination Framework, Uday Abdul-Hadi, confirmed on Saturday that the framework’s candidate for prime minister has reached 70% agreement, anticipating an announcement soon.
Abdul-Hadi told Al-Maalouma, “The past three days witnessed important meetings that led to understandings among various forces within the Coordination Framework, allowing us to say that we have reached 70% of a decision regarding the candidate for the next prime minister.”
He indicated that “the candidate may be announced in the near future,” emphasizing that “these understandings reflect the strength and cohesion of the framework’s forces and their agreement on the principle of dialogue in resolving many issues.”
He added that “the Coordination Framework’s candidate for prime minister will be presented within the constitutional timeframes specified for nominating the candidate of the largest bloc in the Council of Representatives.”
