On Thursday, S&P Global Energy, an American company, revealed that eight of the world’s largest oil field development projects, including those in Iraq scheduled to begin operations in 2026, could add more than 450,000 barrels per day to global crude markets, indicating that the largest new supply sources are located in countries that are not members of the OPEC+ alliance.

According to company data seen by Shafaq News Agency, the only country in the Middle East included in this year’s list is Iraq, where the third largest project operated by the Chinese company ” EBS ” will come into operation.

She noted that production at the shallow water field in East Baghdad is expected to increase by 46,500 barrels per day by mid-2026, while total production at the light to medium crude oil field is expected to reach 120,000 barrels per day by 2027 after the expansion of its southern field.
