Economic researcher Diaa Abdul Karim believes the incoming government has a golden opportunity to invest in land, maximize revenues, and eliminate unemployment.
Abdul Karim told Al-Maalouma, “The areas between provinces present a golden opportunity for the government to offer as land for investment, to build residential complexes, establish industrial cities, and develop road networks.”
He added, “Distributing land to citizens at nominal prices will open a new avenue for revenue and provide the state with substantial sums through the entry of investors to develop services, establish industrial zones, and employ the unemployed in these new cities.” He explained that
“offering land as investment opportunities and distributing some of it to citizens who do not own homes will have a positive impact by operating construction material factories, alleviating congestion outside cities, eliminating the housing crisis, and generating additional revenue for the state through service fees, transportation fees, real estate transactions, and factories operating at full capacity to provide construction materials.”
