The Information Agency/Baghdad –
MP Ahmed Majeed, from the Ishraqat Kanoun Movement, called on political blocs today, Thursday, to send a clear message to Iraqi society by nominating ministers who are competent, honest, and free from partisan affiliations.
Majeed told the Information Agency, “The next phase requires the formation of a strong and effective government, and this will only be achieved through the political blocs agreeing on the selection of highly competent ministers who are independent of political parties.”
He added, “The new responsibilities placed on the shoulders of members of parliament necessitate reviewing and amending a number of previous laws to align with current changes, especially laws related to citizens’ lives, such as the salary scale, the Popular Mobilization Forces Law, and the ‘Where Did You Get This?’ law, in addition to other long-awaited laws by the Iraqi people.”
Majeed pointed out that “the current parliament inherited from the previous parliament many laws that reached the voting stage after undergoing two readings, and the majority of these laws cover different segments and classes of Iraqi society.”
