MP Saud Al-Saadi predicted on Wednesday that the upcoming political process, which includes electing the president and appointing the prime minister, will proceed smoothly and without obstacles, given the existence of initial and prior understandings between the political forces.
Al-Saadi told Al-Maalouma that “there is a noticeable development in the level of political understandings and agreements, which will produce a somewhat faster political process, unlike what happened in the formation of previous governments,” stressing that “the decision will not witness any delay or disruption.”
He added that “the number of candidates for the position of Prime Minister is nine people, three of whom are considered the most prominent among them,” indicating that “these people have been given a deadline to decide their matter and choose one candidate from among them, and if no agreement is reached, the direction will be towards choosing a figure from among the six remaining candidates.”
He indicated that “the speed with which the House of Representatives selected and decided, along with the smooth procedures, will give a significant boost to expediting the selection of a prime ministerial candidate,” noting that “the largest bloc, represented by the Coordination Framework, is capable of proceeding with the nomination of the prime minister in the coming phase.”
