Imran al-Karkoushi, a member of the State of Law Coalition, suggested that political blocs might be delayed in deciding on a candidate for prime minister, noting that these blocs could need up to a month to finalize the nomination. Al
-Karkoushi told Al-Maalouma, “The political blocs have a lot of work ahead of them. Their work isn’t limited to deciding on the top leadership positions; there’s also the distribution of ministerial posts in the next government.”
He added, “The issue of distribution isn’t just about the forces within the Coordination Framework; all forces have their allocated shares, and they will work on rearranging their strategies to finalize the distribution among the various parties according to their electoral entitlements.” He explained
that “the mechanism for reaching a consensus and understanding regarding the prime minister’s position may take more time, and the political parties might need up to a month before a candidate is named and officially appointed by the president.”
