Chihod - The Election Law Will Not Remain In Place And The Next Parliament Will Have Its SayInformation / Baghdad…

A member of the State of Law coalition, Muhammad Chihod, confirmed that the election law has faced rejection by most of the political blocs and parties, pointing out that the law will not remain as it is and will face changes during the next parliamentary session.

Chihod told Al-Maalouma, “The next parliament will work to change the election law after the great failure of the electoral process and manipulation of the poll results, which was a reason to appeal to the Federal Court about the election results.”

He added, “Most of the political forces have objected to the election law, which caused fraud and chaos that accompanied the voting process, and whose repercussions still exist.”

And he indicated that “the judiciary is unlikely to go in the direction of canceling the results and calling for new elections, especially since there are a number of reasons, the most prominent of which is the absence of a parliament, in addition to the fact that the government is still a caretaker.”
