Abdul Latif - The Faw port project is currently suspended and the Korean company has not made a single stepThe former judge, Wael Abdel Latif, revealed on Thursday that the Korean company, since receiving the Al-Faw port project, has not progressed a single step in developing the project.

Abdul Latif said, in a press statement, that “the Iraqi government did not deposit any money in the TBI Bank, for the purpose of the Korean company’s directing the sidewalk construction work, which caused the project to be stopped until the moment, and no initial stage has been completed.”

He pointed out that “this matter prompted the Director General of Ports to search for investments in the project for the purposes of starting work in the port, despite his lack of competence in the matter. In addition, this type of investment does not belong to the Investment Authority in Baghdad and the provinces, which may constitute another crisis on the way to ending it.” .

He pointed out that “it would have been better for the government to get rid of such crises through the Chinese offer, which added to the Iraqi government’s offers more than 7 other projects to turn Al-Faw Island into an integrated industrial city.”

The scene is currently witnessing a state of stagnation by the competent authorities in the case of the Faw port, whose idea was launched in 2013 and is still in its early stages so far.
