Central Bank Governor: We want to open branches of Iraqi banks in Turkey

Mubasher: The Governor of the Iraqi Bank, Mustafa Ghaleb Mukhif, received today, Tuesday, the Turkish ambassador to Iraq, Ali Reza Günay, and his accompanying delegation from Turkish banks.
During the meeting, according to a statement issued by the Central Bank, they stressed the need to enhance cooperation in the banking sector between the two friendly countries.
He expressed frightening, the keenness of the Central Bank of Iraq to provide the best facilities to Turkish banks operating in Iraq, and its desire to open branches of Iraqi banks in Turkey, and the importance of reciprocity in providing these services and facilities.
The governor indicated that the fruitful cooperation between the two countries has positive economic repercussions. Because of the large volume of trade exchange between the two countries, with the need to adhere to anti-money laundering and terrorist financing laws.
