Iran completely stops supplying electricity to IraqThe Iraqi Minister of Electricity, Adel Karim confirmed that the supply of electricity from the Iranian side is completely non-existent, while a senior official in the Iranian Electricity Management Company announced the suspension of the export of electricity to Iraq.

In Baghdad, the Iraqi Minister of Electricity, Adel Karim, said that the reasons why Iran did not supply Iraq with electricity is due to the low quantities of water, which led to the lack of supply of electricity to their hydraulic stations, which caused their interruption, according to what our correspondent said.

Karim added, during press statements, that electricity from the Iranian side is completely non-existent, explaining that “they have justifications”, according to what the Iranian ambassador to Iraq said, and therefore “the Iranian side lost quantities of megawatts, which made it impossible to equip Iraq now with Iranian lines.”

In Tehran, the Executive Director of the Iranian Electricity Management Company announced the suspension of the export of electricity to Iraq.

The Iranian official said that the suspension of exports was due to the need to meet the country’s needs internally.

On the other hand, our correspondent in Iraq quoted the Electricity Transmission Company in the north, as saying that a new terrorist act targeted the power lines on the Baiji-Kirkuk line.

He pointed out that this terrorist act caused the fall of 7 electric power transmission towers.

The company confirmed that 27 towers were bombed and collapsed in Nineveh, Kirkuk and Salah al-Din in just one week.
