Parliamentary defense - Parliament will monitor the results of the strategic dialogue between Baghdad and WashingtonThe Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee confirmed today, Monday, that the House of Representatives will monitor the results of the third round of dialogue between the United States of America and the Iraqi government, while it indicated that Iraq will go to other sources to buy weapons if America refuses to do so.

Badr Al-Ziyadi, a member of the committee, said in a statement to “Tigris”, that “negotiating with the American side and strategic dialogue is the specialty of government work,” noting that “the House of Representatives is tasked with monitoring the results of the third round of the existing dialogue between Baghdad and Washington and what comes out of it.”

He added that “the House of Representatives will reject any negotiations that do not preserve the sovereignty of the country,” noting that “Iraq will go towards other countries and sources to buy weapons in the event that they are not supplied to the security forces by the United States of America.”
