Kurdish leader - There is no guarantee that the region will adhere to the budget lawThe leader of the New Generation Movement, Salah Daoud, confirmed, Thursday, that there is a fear that the Kurdistan Regional Government will not abide by the provisions of the budget law, indicating that there is no guarantor of the region’s commitment to the budget law.

Dawood said in a press statement that “in 2019 a similar agreement happened, but the Kurdistan region did not deliver a single barrel of oil, not even the proceeds of the border crossings, and therefore there is no guarantee that the region will deliver the oil to SOMO.”

He added, “Despite the budget agreement, it was in the interest of the regional government, and it guarantees sending money and salaries on an ongoing basis, but the citizens ‘concerns are that the government does not adhere to that agreement, and therefore Baghdad will stop sending employees’ salaries as happened in previous years.”

The House of Representatives ended yesterday evening, Wednesday, the vote on the budget law after a delay of three months, amid Kurdish welcome and the objection of multiple parties.
