A member of the committee, Salim Hamza, told Al-Furat News that “there is no agreement until the moment on the remaining articles of the Federal Court Law, as it is very difficult and needs sufficient time and tremendous efforts.”
He added, “As for presenting the law in this current way and passing it in today‚Äôs session, it is not correct,” describing it as “the most dangerous law, as it relates to the security of the state and all segments of the Iraqi people.”
Hamza pointed out, “The disagreement still exists over the clause of Sharia experts who consider appeals that relate exclusively to the principles of Islamic law, and whether their advisory powers remain?”
On Monday, the Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, held a meeting with the heads of the political blocs to agree on the articles of the Federal Supreme Court law.
It is scheduled that the House of Representatives will continue at today’s session voting on the remaining articles of the Federal Supreme Court law.
