Finance - It is not correct to return the budget to the government .. This is the date for votingShafaq News / On Friday, a source in the Parliamentary Finance Committee denied returning the federal budget for 2021 to the government, referring to a parliamentary agreement to vote on the budget next week.

The source told Shafaq News, “The news that the parliament will return the 2021 budget bill to the government is incorrect,” indicating that “there is a parliamentary agreement to pass the budget in the middle of next week.”

The source added that “there is a semi-final agreement with the Kurdistan Region on the disputed paragraphs of the budget.”

Earlier today, Shafaq News / The Kurdistan Democratic Bloc announced that a “preliminary agreement” had been reached to settle the region’s share in the general budget law.

The deputy for Democrat Mayada al-Najjar told Shafaq News, “The proportion of the Kurdistan Region in the General Budget Law is 12.67%,” noting that “this percentage will go as salaries for employees, the Peshmerga, political prisoners, social care and ministerial expenditures.”

She added that “the Kurdish delegation and the political blocs have reached a preliminary agreement to settle the region’s share in the budget law, but political dialogues and negotiations are still continuing to resolve the issue.”

Al-Najjar added, “We are awaiting the arrival of the draft budget bill to the Presidency of the Council of Representatives to vote on the budget next week, as determined by the Parliamentary Finance Committee.”

Last December, Baghdad and Erbil reached an agreement on the financial budget, stipulating that the region hand over 250 thousand barrels of oil per day, and half of the revenues from border crossings and others to the federal government, in exchange for a share in the budget of 12.6 percent.

The agreement was included in the draft budget, but Shiite political blocs in Parliament rejected the agreement, which impedes its passage in Parliament until now.
