The Parliamentary Economic Committee confirmed, on Saturday, that the current budget, if passed in its current form, will overthrow the government and parliament together by the people, indicating that the draft budget and its leakage are intended to feel the pulse of the street.
A member of the Economy Committee, Falah Abdul Karim, said in a press interview that “the draft budget is confined to the prime minister’s office and will not be discussed when it is leaked, which means there is an intention to leak it with the knowledge of the government.”
He added that “the intent of leaking it is to feel the pulse of the Iraqi street and the House of Representatives,” noting that “the budget will not be passed in its current form and all those items will be removed.”
Abdul Karim explained that “the budget in its current form, and in the event that it is passed, will overthrow the government and parliament together by the people,” noting that “the state administration in the economy is very deficient.”
