The Iraqi Parliament reveals: The loan will be passed with only 15 trillion dinars

The Parliamentary Financial Committee confirmed, on Tuesday, that the loan will pass by about 15 trillion dinars after the recent cuts, indicating that the government promised during yesterday’s meeting to send the 2021 budget at the end of this month .
A member of the Finance Committee, Jamal Cougar, said, “The committee discussed a lot about the amounts of the loan with the government and found many contradictions in the numbers requested by the government .”
He added, “The government initially requested 41 trillion, then reduced it to 31 trillion, then 30 trillion and a half, and then through an official book it was found that it needed only 22 trillion dinars .”
Cougar explained that “the committee has determined the amount and informed the government that it will pass the loan in the amount of 15 trillion dinars only, the need for salaries,” noting that “the government is insisting on an amount of 22 under the pretext that it is in dire need of that money .”
He continued, “The committee discussed the 2021 budget file with the government, to prevent a recurrence of this year’s scenario, and the government promised to send it at the end of this month.”
