Follow-up – and babysit – Hawlati Kurdish newspaper said that President Jalal Talabani, prefer to remain Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in office.
The weekly newspaper quoted a source close to the political bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, led by Talabani said, “Talabani, Maliki would prefer to remain in office and that he may withdraw from his position as President of the Republic, because the political process in Iraq will develop in this way completely helpless.”
The newspaper said the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) alone did not support withdrawal of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of the federal government.
It quoted Jaafar Ibrahim, spokesman for the political bureau of the Democratic Party as saying that the withdrawal of the federal government is one of the options for the party but said that his party will return to its allies before taking any decision
