Baghdad / File News: The source revealed, Wednesday, that the reason for failure of Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to participate in the meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations is not getting a response from Washington about the possibility of a meeting with U.S. President Obama on the sidelines of the General Assembly in New York.
The source told “File News”, “Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki made earlier request to the U.S. government in Washington to meet with President Barack Obama on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the United Nations ongoing its business now,” noting that “Washington did not respond to a request Maliki, on the grounds that Obama’s agenda will be busy during the work of the Assembly. ”
The source, who asked not to be named, said, “al-Maliki’s failure to represent Iraq at the General Assembly meetings, too, is the fear of not getting a chance to meet Obama and chatter that devolves step that the United States withdrew its support for the Maliki government.”
The source continued, “and that al-Maliki’s failure to participate in the meetings of the General Assembly in New York is that the Assembly’s agenda focuses on the discussion of the Iranian nuclear file and the Syrian issue and the situation in it.”
The General Assembly opened its UN in New York (Tuesday the 25th of September the current), while issued a dossier Syria and Iran’s nuclear agenda of the Assembly.
And directed Iraqi Vice President Khodair al (Monday the 23 of September current) at the head of a high-level delegation to New York to participate in the representation of Iraq in the meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
