Iran. It is common knowledge they are the ones pumping this into Iraq. 2. The dinar currently in circulation is the ones being counterfeited. The longer this goes on, the more of this gets into Iraq and screws with monetary policy. A goal I am sure of Iran and Maliki. If they could find a way to raise the value, introduce the new lower notes, it would put an end to this nonsense for a period of time.

Regarding the date, there are a couple of things that lead me to believe we won’t have to wait another year. The DFI protection possibly ending is one, Smart Cards due to be released in full by July, peaceful elections, HCL progress, and strong UN and Kuwait support just to name a few.

If these kinds of attacks stop, then I believe he thinks the position of the bank has changed and they have decided not to go forward.

4-24-2013 Newshound Guru Tlar I would think less of Maliki if he did not try to muster the troops to stop this. He has done it for 3 years straight. The difference to me is that the CBI, through on site international urging is moving ahead this time. We know the scare tactics of Maliki. Smuggling, counterfeiting, government stability. He has worn out these excuse and these problems will be aided by the currency. It will not add to the problem++. The bank in my opinion has given up trying to appease, get agreement or approval from the government. They also have been methodically working to get this done. They appear not to want to argue this anymore as there has been few articles that have come out where they are trying to defend the decision to go.

I have not seen a definitive article from the COM retracting their suggested start date of July of this year. …Maliki has fired his accusation of theft toward Turki only to have it miss him entirely. We also remember this shot was fired on the back of the Integrity Commissions findings on Shabibi. Maliki cannot throw more charges against Turki because those too will be seen as politically motivated.

All these things bode well for the deletion of the zeros to go forward. IMHO we won’t see much coming out of the bank this time as we have seen in the past. We will see little discussion from them. They have already argued their position over 3 years. I think the bank will spring this on the government when they feel the time is right. IMHO they remain suspiciously quite this time.

It’s an anonymous source, and when you read the entire article it sounds like more of an opinion. If that’s the case, then we have to take it with a grain of salt. However, if it is true and we get factual final confirmation that the DFI protection will indeed end, this is GREAT news! It means Iraq is going to have to put on the big-boy pants and stop using the same excuses. We can surely hope that this, among other things coming up, leads to positive results.

Confused!!] I probably need to clarify – “they have been seen” – not that they are widely circulated…nor does it mean anything. They have very little value. [if all the DFI money is clamed in law suits(IF) what will happen with our money] that would be bad – but not the end of the world. they have survived thus far without it…it’s not the only thing used to value the currency…assets in the ground.
4-24-2013 Intel Guru Footforward Everything that needs to be in place is in place. There isn’t any more pieces to this puzzle. I believe the RV is coming & I believe it is coming right away. The lower denoms being out in the market place is not correct. There is no reason to put them out there before the RV. It would cause a problem & would be a security nightmare. They have a plan in place to put the LD’s out as soon as the RV goes. I believe we are close and I am looking for something to happen.
