The Japanese ambassador to Iraq, Akira Endo, confirmed on Saturday the continuation of the implementation of old projects and the launch of new projects in Iraq, while pointing to the continuation of cooperation with the Iraqi government in providing assistance and completing projects. The ambassador told the official agency that “the Japanese government is continuing to cooperate with the new Iraqi government in order to continue the implementation of old projects.”
He added: “I met with the Prime Minister and the President, and we have new projects through Japanese loans that will soon see the light of day,” noting that “Japan continues to provide assistance to Iraq through the provision of projects and Japanese yen offers.”
