On Tuesday, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali al-Zaidi, directed that the level of combat readiness be raised to the highest levels.
This came during his chairmanship of a meeting that included the Director of the Commander-in-Chief’s Office, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning, and a number of advisors and military commanders, according to a statement issued by his office and received by Shafaq News Agency.
During the meeting, Al-Zaydi was briefed on the readiness level of the Iraqi armed forces, particularly the capabilities of the air force, navy, air defense and army aviation, and their needs for modern equipment, supplies and technologies.
The Commander-in-Chief directed that the level of combat readiness be raised to the highest levels, stressing that the components of modern military power are no longer limited to traditional weapons, but are now based on air capabilities, drones, air defense systems, and technological and technical development.
The Prime Minister stressed the government’s commitment to providing all the necessary requirements to enhance the capabilities of the armed forces and develop their potential, in order to ensure the protection of Iraq’s security, sovereignty, airspace, waters and lands.
