The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a ministerial order transferring Ambassador Ahmed Nayef Rashid Al-Dulaimi to the Iraqi Embassy in Riyadh, succeeding Ambassador Safia Al-Suhail, ahead of Prime Minister Ali Al-Zubaidi’s anticipated visit to Saudi Arabia, as part of a Gulf tour that also includes Kuwait.

A document obtained by Shafaq News Agency shows the ministerial order issued by the Administrative Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “Transferring Al-Dulaimi to the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Riyadh as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, with the decision to take effect from the date of his departure from his previous post, while the order was signed by Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.”

The diplomatic change comes ahead of al-Zaidi’s scheduled visit to Saudi Arabia next Wednesday, before heading to Kuwait, in a tour that included a visit to Riyadh last July due to the rapidly evolving security situation in the region.

In preparation for the visit, Oil Minister Bassem Mohammed Khudair and Electricity Minister Ali Saadi Wahib arrived in Riyadh on Sunday evening to prepare the files expected to be discussed, as well as to participate in the 25th World Energy Congress, at the official invitation of the Saudi Minister of Energy.
