Head of the Ports Authority - We are witnessing remarkable growth, and exports through Trebil have exceeded 300 vehicles per dayThe head of the Border Ports Authority, Omar Al-Waeli, announced on Sunday that the ports are witnessing extensive trade exchange. While noting that priority is given to perishable goods, he confirmed that exports through the Trebil port have exceeded 300 trucks per day. Al-Waeli told the official agency that “one of the priorities of the work of the border ports is to give priority to perishable goods in procedures and to ensure that they are not delayed, in addition to the rest of the foodstuffs and raw materials used in the food industries, through continuous work around the clock to speed up the completion of transactions and ensure that goods reach the markets, which contributes to the abundance of supply and price stability.”

He added, “The border crossings are witnessing extensive trade exchange with neighboring countries and trading partners, characterized by high smoothness, with work continuing without interruption in coordination between all parties working at the border crossings to provide facilities for traders and address any delays that may affect Iraqi markets.”

Al-Waeli also noted that “border crossings are currently witnessing a significant increase in exports from Iraq to neighboring countries, with exports through the Trebil crossing alone exceeding 300 trucks per day, in addition to the continued transit of various goods.” He emphasized that “this growth reflects Iraq’s ability to strengthen its role as an exporter to various countries around the world, not just an importer.”
