US officials: Washington is planning a short, intensive military campaign against Iran

US officials have revealed that the US military is continuing to prepare military options to resume confrontation with Iran, in parallel with field moves that include deploying three aircraft carriers to the Middle East region in the near term, according to the New York Times.
The newspaper explained in its report that the Department of Defense (the Pentagon) had drawn up plans to strike Iran’s drone and missile arsenal on the orders of President Donald Trump, and had presented him with 5 plans for major military operations targeting Iran and the Houthis.
She noted that Trump’s national security team, led by Vice President J.D. Vance, discussed plans for a short, intensive military campaign.
These developments come in conjunction with statements by President Trump in which he confirmed the existence of “productive talks” with Tehran, ruling out any military attack before the midterm congressional elections scheduled for November 3, which denies previous reports that indicated the possibility of action before this date.
