The Coordination Framework held its periodic meeting on Monday evening, but it did not address the approval of the annual financial budget or the completion of the formation of the ministerial cabinet, despite the fact that more than six months have passed since the current government was tasked with the leadership of Ali al-Zidi.
The framework stated in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency that it held its 298th meeting in the office of the head of the National Foundation Alliance, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, in the presence of Prime Minister Ali Al-Zidi, to discuss a number of important national issues and files that directly affect the living and service conditions of citizens.
The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Faleh Sari, during which the country’s financial and economic affairs and the government’s service plan were reviewed and discussed.
The participants focused on priority economic and financial issues, emphasizing the adoption of monetary and development policies that support economic stability and contribute tangibly to raising the standard of living of the Iraqi individual and improving basic services.
The meeting also touched on developments in the regional and international scenes, and discussed current issues in the region and the world, stressing the importance of preserving Iraq’s stability and its higher interests amidst the surrounding challenges.
It should be noted that the approval of the federal budget has become of paramount importance to the government and the House of Representatives, as it relates to the running of ministries and government institutions.
The completion of the government formation is also linked to the work of the government as well as the House of Representatives in terms of legislation, oversight and executive functions.
