The parliamentary finance committee announced on Monday that the House of Representatives will host Finance Minister Faleh al-Sari and senior ministry officials on Tuesday to discuss the draft general budget law for 2027.
Committee member Riyadh al-Tamimi said that “the House of Representatives will host, at the invitation of the Finance Committee, Finance Minister Falih al-Sari and senior ministry staff on Tuesday to discuss the draft general budget law for 2027 before it reaches the House of Representatives,” according to the official agency.
He added that “the Finance Committee, according to Article 61 of the internal regulations, is supposed to be aware of the budget preparation process,” explaining that “the hosting aims to inquire of the minister about the budget preparation mechanism and the extent to which it includes contracts, wages, and grades.”
He pointed out that “there are those who speak on behalf of the minister regarding the budget, and therefore the committee will host the minister to learn all the details related to it,” stressing that “the Finance Committee has prepared the agenda for the meeting and the proposed questions.”
