Badr Parliamentary Committee: Parliamentary action to resolve vacant ministerial posts in tomorrow’s session
8-9-2026
The Badr parliamentary bloc confirmed on Sunday that the majority of political blocs will renew their pressure and demands on the al-Zaidi government to expedite the submission of nominees for the vacant ministerial positions as soon as possible. The bloc indicated that completing the cabinet has become an urgent necessity and cannot tolerate further delay given the current crises.
Bloc member and MP Mukhtar al-Youssef told the Information Agency, “Iraq is currently going through its most difficult and critical phase, directly linked to the financial and economic crises, in addition to the nature of the challenges and the security situation at both the domestic and regional levels.”
He added, “During the previous session, the political blocs in parliament demanded that the government and relevant authorities resolve the issue of completing the cabinet, but they have not received any real response to the parliament’s request so far.”
The bloc member stressed that “the majority of parliamentary forces will act decisively during tomorrow’s session to reiterate their demands and compel the government to finalize this matter and submit the names of the remaining ministerial nominees for a vote.”
