The Media and Communications Commission vowed on Friday to take legal action against anyone who claims to be an official agent or authorized seller of “Starlink” in Iraq, warning that any claim to the contrary is considered “misleading advertising” to the consumer and warrants legal accountability.
The commission said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency that the claim of exclusivity in representing the “Starlink” company is “misleading” to consumers wishing to obtain satellite internet services.
She explained that the announcement of any authorized agent or seller for “Starlink” will be issued officially through the approved channels of the Authority and the company itself, as soon as the necessary procedures and requirements for this are completed.
The authority urged consumers and government institutions to exercise caution and not to deal with any entity claiming to represent “Starlink” or to sell its products officially, and to refer to official sources to verify any information related to authorized agencies.
