Former MP Jassim Mohammed Jaafar predicted on Wednesday that the political forces will agree to pass the nine ministries within the next few days, and that they may be put to a vote before the House of Representatives at the end of this August.
Jaafar explained in a statement to Al-Maalomah News Agency that “there is a consensus among most political forces to present the names of candidates to fill these nine vacant ministries to the House of Representatives as a single package,” predicting that “the vote on the remaining ministries will take place in the House of Representatives at the end of this August.”
Regarding the delay in voting on these ministries, a member of the State of Law coalition explained that “among the most prominent problems that have hindered and delayed the resolution of the vacant ministerial posts until now are the financial difficulties Iraq is experiencing, as well as the Saudi-American strike on Popular Mobilization Forces headquarters, and also the process of disarming militias and the withdrawal of American and international coalition forces scheduled for next September.”
