Parliament announces receipt of draft external borrowing law from the government

The Parliamentary Finance Committee revealed on Wednesday that the draft law on external borrowing and grants for the year 2026 has arrived from the Ministry of Finance to Parliament in order to make some amendments and additions before it is put to a vote.
Committee member Jamal Kojar told Al-Maalomah News Agency that “the government has two options to solve the cash liquidity crisis. The first is to print money to save funds, and the second is to arrest the corrupt in order to withdraw all the money they stole and deposit it in the state treasury and then pay it in the form of salaries to employees.”
He added that “the government is asking Parliament to enact a number of laws and legislations to address the economic crisis, including the External Borrowing and Grants Law for 2026, which reached the Finance Committee a short time ago, explaining that the Minister of Finance asked the Finance Committee to draft this law and submit it for a vote before Parliament.”
Kujer added, believing that “this law will not solve the employee salary crisis.”
