Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi is scheduled to pay an official visit to the Turkish capital, Ankara, on Tuesday.
According to a government source who spoke to Shafaq News Agency, the visit is important and will include discussions and agreements on security, economic and investment cooperation, as well as coordinating cooperation regarding oil and energy, increasing trade between the two countries, in addition to other files related to regional and international conditions.
An Iraqi oil delegation recently visited Türkiye to agree on a mutually satisfactory mechanism for exporting Iraqi oil through official Turkish outlets, according to a source who spoke to Shafaq News Agency.
These negotiations preceded Al-Zidi’s visit to Türkiye, which may witness the signing of a number of agreements for various bilateral partnerships, including the oil file, at a time when Iraq is seeking to find alternative and safe outlets to market its oil globally.
