The spokesperson for the Reconstruction and Development parliamentary bloc, Firas al-Muslawi, revealed on Tuesday that there is parliamentary and political pressure from the Coordination Framework to vote on the candidates for the vacant ministerial posts as a single package. He indicated that resolving the issue requires consensus among the political blocs. Al-Muslawi told the Information Agency that “the Coordination Framework emphasized during its meeting on Monday evening the necessity of voting on the remaining ministerial candidates as a single package.” He explained that “this mechanism guarantees achieving the legal quorum for the voting session, while splitting the selection will inevitably lead to a lack of quorum.”
He added that “negotiations and dialogues are still ongoing and intensive among the political forces to reach a final agreement on the proposed names,” noting that “the Coordination Framework is strongly pressing for a resolution to this issue to enable the government to proceed with its service program with its full powers, as managing ministries by acting ministers weakens their executive output.”
