Iraq was ranked among the top 10 Arab countries in terms of the size of its commercial maritime fleet during 2026, in a ranking that reflects the capabilities of Arab countries in the maritime transport and port trade sector, with the UAE, Egypt and Saudi Arabia topping the list, according to Global Fire Power data.
The UAE topped the Arab list with 655 commercial vessels, followed by Egypt with 441 vessels, and then Saudi Arabia with 433 vessels, reflecting the dominance of these countries in the maritime transport and trade sector in the region.
Bahrain came in fourth place with 184 ships, Kuwait fifth with 176 ships, Qatar sixth with 123 ships, then Algeria with 119 ships, Libya with 96 ships, Morocco with 94 ships, while Iraq came in tenth place with 74 commercial ships.
It is noted that Iraq ranked seventh among Arab countries in terms of the strength of its military naval fleets for the year 2026.
According to the list, Egypt came in first place among Arab countries, followed by Qatar in second place, then Kuwait in third place. Algeria came in fourth place, Morocco in fifth place, while the UAE came in sixth place. Iraq came in seventh place in the ranking, followed by Bahrain in eighth place, Libya in ninth place, and Tunisia in tenth place.
