The former MP ,Furat al-Tamimi, called on Friday for the adoption of the “Where did you get this?” principle in combating corruption, noting that the funds looted over the years are sufficient to rebuild a comprehensive urban development in the country.
In an interview with Al-Maalomah, al-Tamimi explained that “the success of the anti-corruption campaign must be achieved through the adoption of a systematic and specific strategy for tracking those involved in looting public funds, and opening all files without any pressure or red lines.” He added that “adopting the ‘Where did you get this?’ principle is of paramount importance, especially given the obscene wealth of many who have held government positions in state institutions.”
He pointed out that “the success of the anti-corruption campaign is a fundamental part of maintaining order and stability, establishing a sense of security, and instilling trust among citizens,” noting that “the funds that have been recovered in recent days are merely a drop in the ocean compared to the money looted over many years.”
Al-Tamimi stressed the necessity of “managing the anti-corruption process according to the principles of transparency and clarity, in order to build trust with the public.”
