An informed source reported on Thursday that the Integrity Commission summoned a number of officials from a state-owned bank to investigate suspicions of financial and administrative corruption, based on statements made by one of the accused who were recently arrested.
The source told Shafaq News Agency that initial investigations indicate suspicions of the involvement of a number of bank officials in joint corruption cases with detained defendants, in addition to the investigation into the issuance and disbursement of checks related to the North Refinery.
He added that the investigations include allegations of legal and administrative violations that accompanied the procedures for issuing and disbursing those checks, while the Integrity Commission continues to complete its legal procedures to determine the responsibilities of those proven to be involved.
