On Sunday, Iraqi Member of Parliament Hayam Al-Yasiri submitted a request to the Speaker of Parliament to host the Minister of Oil inside the Parliament building.
According to a document received by Shafaq News Agency, 72 MPs signed the parliamentary request to clarify to the Iraqi Oil Minister the “contracts and memoranda of understanding that were concluded with the American side during the recent visit to Washington, especially those related to the Energy and Development Fund and support for the American strategic reserve.”
Al-Zaidi and the high-level delegation accompanying him concluded on Saturday a five-day official visit to the United States of America, which focused on launching a comprehensive and diversified economic partnership to support the Iraqi economy, expand investment opportunities, revitalize the local labor market, and enable Iraq to open new outlets for exporting crude oil and increase production and refining capacities.
