301 suspects arrested in 8 cases: Iraqi security announces the results of its June operations

The Iraqi National Security Service announced on Tuesday the arrest of 301 defendants in 8 different security and criminal cases during the month of June.
The agency stated in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency that “26 people accused of terrorism, 57 drug dealers and promoters, 101 people accused of extortion and threats, and 41 people accused of fraud and deception crimes were arrested.”
He added, “15 people were arrested for belonging to extremist religious movements, 48 people were arrested for belonging to and promoting the banned Baath Party, 5 people were arrested for human trafficking, and 8 people were arrested for smuggling oil derivatives.”
The agency noted the seizure and destruction of 352 tons of expired and prohibited food items, and the closure of 80 sites and commercial centers for violating the terms and conditions.
