Zibari, Kerry discuss Iraqi-US bilateral relations

Baghdad (AIN) -The Iraqi Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zibari received phone call from his US counterpart, John Kerry, during which Kerry welcomed the mutual understanding happened in recent between The central government and Kurdistan Regional Government.

A statement by the Iraqi FM reported “Both sides discussed, during the phone call, the Iraqi-US bilateral relations and importance of activating the ministerial coordination commissions between both countries within the Strategic Framework Agreement. Kerry invited Zibari to visit Washington next month.”

“The US Secretary of State welcomed the return of the Kurdish MPs and ministers to the parliament and government and the settlement of the problems between Baghdad and Erbil,” according to the statement.

The federal council of ministers held on last Thursday its regular session with participation of the Kurdish ministers after Kurdistan Region decided to let the Kurdish ministers and MPs to rejoin the government and parliament. /End/
