Shafaq News/ The X platform (formerly Twitter) experienced a widespread technical outage on Saturday, causing service disruption for tens of thousands of users around the world.
According to Down Detector, a website that tracks digital outages, reports of the outage began to increase significantly on Saturday morning, with more than 25,000 users in the United States alone reporting problems loading or interacting with posts, and the recurring message: “Something went wrong… Try reloading.”
The outage comes at a sensitive time for the platform, which Musk purchased for $44 billion in late 2022 and subsequently implemented sweeping changes that included laying off approximately 80% of its employees, raising questions about the platform’s technical infrastructure and support.
It’s worth noting that this is the second major outage for the platform since the beginning of the year. In March, X experienced outages that lasted for about half an hour, temporarily paralyzing user interaction around the world.
