{Baghdad: Euphrates News} World Bank announced that the Iraqi government doubled the wages of electricity consumption four times.
According to the World Bank in a report that ” the Iraqi government raised the consumption of electricity charges four times since January 2016 cut subsidies,” noting that ” the government has adopted a strategy to increase the collection rates of consumption bills.”
He stressed that Iraq ‘s economy depends on oil heavily and lacks diversity and that the government resorted to spending cuts , which had a negative impact on consumption and investment in the private sector, “noting that” it is expected to improve economic prospects for Iraq if there is a security endodontic favorable and continued to adjust the conditions of efforts public finance. ”
he pointed out that the non – oil economy in 2017 is expected to recover this year after three years of contraction, thanks to the improved security situation and increase investment spending of non – oil, adding that it is likely that the public debt remains within unsustainable in the medium term” .
