Shafaq News/ The sales of the Central Bank of Iraq in the hard currency auction of the US dollar during the month of April amounted to about 3.5 billion dollars.
Shafaq News agency reporter stated that the Central Bank sold during the month of April, in the days when it opened its auction for buying and selling US dollars, 3 billion, 456 million, 357 thousand and 218 dollars, with an average daily sale of 203 million and 315 thousand and 130 dollars, up by 4% from the month. The one that preceded it, which amounted to an average daily sale of 195 million 319 thousand 44 dollars, up by 2.16% over the same period of last year 2022.
It should be noted that the currency auction in the Central Bank of Iraq is not held during specific days of the week, in addition to stopping on holidays and events.
Our correspondent added that sales of foreign remittances amounted during the past month to two billion and 838 million and 157 thousand and 218 dollars, an increase of 78.22% compared to cash sales, which amounted to 618 million and 200 thousand dollars.
He pointed out that these sales were distributed between remittances to finance foreign trade, and cash sales to banks, while the selling price of documentary credits and international settlements for electronic cards reached 1305 dinars per dollar, and the selling price of remittances abroad and the cash sale price reached 1310 dinars per dollar.
