Washington welcomed the agreement reached between the governments in Baghdad and Erbil on the differences between them relating to the budget and oil exports.
The spokeswoman said US State Department spokesman Jennifer Sacchi, in the summary of the Ministry of the press: “We welcome the announcement to reach an agreement between the Federal Government of Iraq, and the Kurdistan Regional Government, to take the initial steps towards the achievement of a just and comprehensive solution for the management of hydrocarbon sources in Iraq.”
It urged the parties to “the implementation of these steps at the earliest possible opportunity to build confidence, and to continue to discuss the remaining issues in the coming days, to reach a just and constitutional solution, allowing all Iraqis to benefit equitably and evenly from the hydrocarbon sector in Iraq.”
