The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Tuesday that it is continuing to impose a complete naval blockade on Iran in the Arabian Sea, noting that 94 commercial vessels were redirected and 3 other vessels were disabled to ensure compliance with the embargo.
In contrast, the Secretary-General of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, confirmed in a post on the “X” platform that Washington had received a “clear warning” through the new Iranian missiles, threatening to impose a maritime exclusion zone in the entire Gulf waters in response to what he described as “economic warfare,” with a radical reconsideration of the operational stance against American bases and ships.
In the same context, ship tracking data issued by Kpler and reported by Reuters showed a slowdown in shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz at the start of the week amid escalating tensions, with the number of cargo ships passing through the strait dropping to just 7 ships on Monday, compared to 8 ships the previous day.
