US House Speaker Mike Johnson announced on Sunday the end of “Operation Epic Wrath” against Iran.
Fox News quoted Johnson as saying that the United States is working on a project to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
On Saturday, US President Donald Trump posted a message on Truth Social hinting at an impending escalation against Iran, accompanied by a picture depicting maritime tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced on Saturday that his country had received messages from the Americans expressing their desire to continue talks with the aim of reaching a comprehensive peace agreement in the region.
Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni also discussed with his Pakistani counterpart Mohsin Naqvi in Tehran on Saturday “relations between the two countries” and “prospects for resuming peace talks” with the United States, according to Iran’s Nour News Agency.
