Washington mobilizes its air power: B-2 stealth bombers arrive in the Indian Ocean

Shafaq News/ Satellite images revealed that the United States has deployed at least four long-range B-2 stealth bombers to the Diego Garcia base in the central Indian Ocean, according to the Associated Press.
This move comes amid ongoing US airstrikes on Houthi positions in Yemen. US forces launched dozens of strikes early Saturday morning against sites in Sana’a, Al-Jawf, and Sa’dah, according to Houthi-affiliated media outlets.
The Yemeni news agency, Saba, reported that the raids in Saada governorate resulted in the death of one person and the injury of four others .
Three B-2 bombers were reportedly seen at the base earlier this week, meaning Washington has deployed nearly a quarter of its fleet of the nuclear-capable bombers to the region .
The administration of former US President Joe Biden used the same bombers, loaded with conventional bombs, to strike targets in Yemen last year.
In a significant development, the aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman launched airstrikes against the Houthis from the Red Sea, while the US military is planning to move the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson from Asia to the Middle East to bolster its air operations in the region .
Located on the atoll of the same name in the Indian Ocean, Diego Garcia is a military facility under the British Ministry of Defence, but leased to the US Navy, making it a key focal point for any long-range US military action .
