urgent The Commission to Al-Furat News - The turnout in the special vote is very good and we did not register any red complaintsThe Election Commission announced that the results of the special vote for the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections will be transferred to the Commission’s headquarters in Baghdad via a “memory stick.”
Hadi Zayer, a member of the media team of the commission, told Al Furat News Agency: “The special voting for the elections of the regional parliament in its sixth session has ended, and the turnout rate reached 70%. The results will be announced with the general vote and the announcement will be unified.”
He added, “Some complaints have been received and the commission will begin classifying the registered complaints into red, yellow and green as happened in the Iraqi elections and the law will be applied to them.”
Zayer pointed out that “the ballot boxes will remain in the governorates where the voting took place and in the places designated for them, while the memory sticks will be transferred to Baghdad to the commission’s centers,” stressing that “things are under control.”
For his part, Imad Jamil, head of the media team of the Electoral Commission, told Al Furat News: “The percentage of special voting for the regional elections will be announced shortly.
” Jamil described “the turnout in the elections {special voting} as very good, and the announcement of the preliminary results will be unified for the special and general voting elections.”
He stressed that “the commission will suffice with transferring the memory stick to Baghdad while the ballot boxes will be transferred to the commission’s warehouses in the governorates.”
He stressed that “no red-category violations have been recorded so far.”
Meanwhile, Omar Ahmed, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Electoral Commission, announced that “the turnout in the special vote exceeded 90%.”
